The effectiveness of your brochures, internet and print advertising hinges around your photos.  If you don’t have good photos you are not ready to market your home.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;Pictures Say 1000 Words&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your pictures will say it all.  If you don’t attract the attention of buyer’s and their agents through one fabulous picture then they won’t even look at your home.  As I have said, the majority of buyers and their agents will find your home either on the internet or through the MLS.  After putting in their basic search criteria, the next thing they will scan are the pictures of all the homes and they will only look at the homes details if that one pictures grabs them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:verdana;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What Your Main Picture Should Be&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your main picture should try to grab the essence of the home.  If the home has a spectacular view then the picture should be of the view.  If your home is an adorable Victorian than your picture should reflect that aspect of the home.  If your home is in a track home neighborhood, you need to find what makes your home stand out from the others and accentuate that.  For example, if your living room has quality built in cabinets and crown molding then capture those features.  Maybe you have a larger or more private back yard than your competition, or the kitchen has been upgraded with granite and new appliances.  I think you get the point. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you are an agent or working with one, they may be limited to MLS rules which require the main picture to be of the view or outside of the home.  If that is the case, then again, find what feature of your view or homes exterior shows best.  What I am getting at is to try to avoid being generic.  Worst case, if you have no view, and a very average exterior then think of something that make a statement and attract attention.
